What is the cost of having my pet groomed?

Our services are priced individually based on the estimated amount of time it will take to groom your pet.  Mobile grooming provides many benefits for you and your pet that aren’t offered in a shop.  By keeping in mind the time and cost of fuel, travel, and wear and tear on our vehicle we determine a fair price for providing your furry friend the most comfortable grooming experience possible.  The amount due will also include a 6% Pennsylvania state sales tax.

 

Do you need to “hook-up” to my home for electric or water?

Our converted van is equipped with a commercial generator that provides our electric, and two 50-gallon temperature controlled water tanks. The only thing you need to provide is a driveway or curb for us to park on and a pet to pamper!  

 

Do I need to be home when my pet is groomed?

We would like you to be home when we meet you and your pets for the first time.  It is important for us to get as much information as possible about how you would like your pet to be groomed as well as any special needs that your pet may possess.  We are always willing to discuss arrangements for grooming your pet while you are away from home in the future to maximize the convenience of our service.

 

What if I have multiple pets? 

No problem.  We will be happy to groom all your pets on one visit.  No more trudging back and forth to the groom shop, or juggling two pets in the car. If your pets get anxious when separated from each other, we can bring them out to the van together to be groomed.  

 

Can I stay with my pet during the groom?

We take pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment for your pet, and you are more than welcome to check out our facilities when we arrive.  Once we begin the grooming process, however, it is important to minimize the distractions for your pet.   Because your pet is so inclined to show you love and affection, an owner’s presence usually results in increased excitement and movement that makes grooming more dangerous.  Your pet’s safety is our top priority.  So, we maintain a calm and relaxed demeanor, which allows your pet to do the same.   It is at the groomer’s discretion to determine whether extenuating circumstances exist that would make it beneficial to have you stay by your pet’s side.

 

What if my pet is badly matted?

It is always our goal to give your pet the haircut that you want.  But in cases of severe matting, especially when the mats are close to the skin, it is in the best interest of your dog  to start fresh.  We want the grooming process to be enjoyable, and pain free!  The most humane approach in these situations is to clip just beneath the mats.  With your dog feeling better, we can then discuss coat management techniques to work towards the look you want in the future.

 

What if my dog has flees?

We strongly suggest you treat your pet with Frontline Plus or Advantix to protect them from fleas and ticks.  We can remove these pests by using the appropriate shampoo, however regular treatment is required to ensure they aren’t at risk of exposure when they leave the van.  A $20.00 fee will be applied to cover the time and cost of disinfecting the grooming van.

 

When are appointments available?

We operate Monday through with an occasional Saturday by appointment.  Please let us know as soon as possible to ensure we can get you an appointment that suits your schedule as well as ours.  We will not sacrifice safety or quality to rush to an appointment so we will provide a 60-minute window for our estimated arrival time.  We will call to notify you if something unexpected happens that causes us to arrive outside of this window.

 

What if I need to cancel an appointment?

We ask that you provide us with a 24-hour notice of your cancellation so that we have an opportunity to fill your space in the schedule.  Failure to cancel in advance or missed appointments may result in a $35 service fee.

 

What geographical areas do you cover?

Just 4 Petz provides mobile grooming services to York & Lancaster Counties.  We are based in East York and we groom in most parts of York County such as all of East York, parts of West York, North York, Dover, & Red Lion.  Feel free to give us a text or email to see if we come to your area.  If we cannot travel to you we may be able to refer you to a quality groomer who can.

 

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash or checks at time of service ($35 dollar fee for a returned check)
